Communications Research Group
GPqCom (Communications Research Group) is one of the research groups in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Faculty members of GPqCom also take part of the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering, teaching courses and advising master’s and doctoral students.
The group strives for a strong business-university integration, by promoting professional master’s degree courses in telecommunications, providing consultancy services for telecommunications companies, and bringing solutions in order to further improve the quality of the services rendered to the community. GPqCom tries to stimulate the participation of undergraduate and graduate students in these activities.
Current group members conduct research in three major areas: Digital Signal Processing applied to Communication Systems, Error Correcting Codes, and Bioelectrical Signal Processing.
The group is led by Prof. Bartolomeu Uchôa.
